Samothraki / Samothrace Island (Greek Island)

30-31 July 2016

Samothraki (also Samothrace) is one of the small island of Greece. You can travel to Samothraki by ferry that works between Alexandropolis and Samothraki. It takes around 2 hours and cost per person 15€ and 70€ for car. Your first impressions about island; calm, relax and few population.

My advice for journey around the island, rent a scooter. Daily cost was around 15€, but don't forget to make negotiations for shopping.

For swimming east of island based on rocky beaches, west part of the island is soft based sands. Amos is the most famaous beach at west part of the island.

To taste special cuisine of the island, Chora village is best choice. Some delicious mezes, homemeade wines, fish and goat meat most highlated selections.

Paleopoli, Therma, Pammos, Kariotes are well known villages in the island. Between these villages you find seaside and wooded camping areas.

Near to Therma there are some waterfalls. You can swim and face to naturists at these waterfalls but to access these waterfalls you should be ready around 20 minutes mountain hiking.

Rarely you can use your credit card for shopping, try to be ready for cash requests. Most of estates are room concept. There are several options for stay in the island.

 Enjoy you trip :)
